Honda-Tech was sold at precisely the right time, right at the moment that social media started taking attention away from private (and sometimes ponderous) private sites with software like this.

To get an old fashioned forum like this going again would require somebody's concentration and work, and ain't nobody got time for that. You'd probably also need a personality known well enough that people in social media paid attention that you'd started something.
