Default Used trannies

Hey guys, my swap i plan to do over thanksgiving brake so i have a couple days. I still need a GSR tranny. The place I got my motor from sold my tranny on me and might not be able to get one before that. Their price is $950. I see some gsr trannies selling for about $400-600 locally and on ebay. Would it be better to get a ebay tranny for say $400-600 and replace the synchros and check the internals so i know its good vs getting the other tranny, although that has a warranty. I just dont want to get stuck with a expensive tranny and need to pull it back out becasue it grinds. The tranny for $950 has a 1 month warranty and less than 40k so they say. And if i do replace the synchros whats a good brand to go with?

I think HM only sells engines and swaps, no trannies alone.
