Default 96 Accord SRS light resets.... but comes on

after restart..... ideas?? I have replaced the airbag... and the seller informed me that his light in his 94 was not on when he pulled the bag.... I am wondering if I was given the straight story from Honda.... perhaps my problems lie elsewhere and that would be just fine with me since a new airbag for a 96 Accord runs $762....

check the code if it'd the same one again I would have the system checked out ,also if it's the driver's bag check the horn and cruise control if they don't work the ribbon cable may be bad .

My '95 SRS came on 3 times and each time it was reset only to come on again. I needed a new SRS unit and the price was CrAzY. I never had it replaced. The light in the dash has been on for 4 years now. I keep hoping the bulb will burn out. LOL

Uh or you could have done it for free without buying anything. How much did that run you?

I'm not opposed to doing that.. mine has been on for years as well.. however I am a diesel mechanic and I do deal with laptop driven/diagnosed machinery... I consider this part of my "education"..... and I like messing around with stuff I'm not supposed to. heh heh heh....

Cost was around 150. I do so want to be able to handle what is coming down the road without going to the dealer... and yes, I know you can get the codes out without anything... but check this out, I'm a tech head and this will fascinate and teach at the same time.

Oh cool, yeah the ones that allow you to grab all the info from the sensors are pretty good. I thought about buying one but can't justify the cost right now. It's gotta be a pretty good tool for tuning your car up perfectly.
