Hey guys, name is Danny and i'm new to the forum. Have a question for swapping trannys (i tried the search and couldnt find anything). I can get my hands on a RSX Type-s Tranny I think it came out of an 04-05. I want to know if its a direct bolt-on. If not then how much work is needed and what parts are needed for this to be a complete swap. Thanks for all the help.

 

It's pretty much a straight swap, the main thing is you need to modify to shifter a little so it can go all the way over to where the new reverse is. try searching for ep3 and 6-speed.

 

In regards to the tranny swap it is just a bolt on affair. I have a 02 ep turbo and I recently swithed to a 6speed rsx-s tranny. Since you already have the tranny you also nee a different clutch and flywheel because the stock ones will not work.Make sure to also replace the throw out bearing. You will need to notch out the shifter ( from fifth to reverse)for the tranny to work and cut an extra slot for the new reverse to work . There are no ecu problems whatsoever so good luck .
