2005 Type-S: 2840 lbs (1288 kg) So it's only 37# The 02-04 typeS weighed in at 2767#

I do not think they mean for the new Civic Si to replace the CL7 and CL9 (Accord or TSX) as the N-series and North American touring car championship winners.

If they do want to race it, the current ruleset allows for enough weight reduction that, since the body rigidity is already there, I doubt they will need to produce a homologation special (like the DC2 ITR) just to win a few races.

I really believe, though, that the double wishbone CL7/CL9 are meant to be the series winners for the near future.
