Default New TL - Need Advice

I’m the Owner of a 2005 Acura TL 6-speed,
and I’m in the market for a couple of low budget, good performance mods to sharpen up the performance. My major requirement is that they are Warranty-Friendly and reliable.

I was thinking about a AEM cold air intake to give a little more grunt to the sound, and (obviously) the added HP.

Think you guys could help out?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank in advance!

Have you checked out www.comptechusa.com? If not, check to see if they make any parts for you. AEM CAI is always a good modification, that's unless if you don't mind the intake noise that it makes.

Enginewise, there aren't many for the 3G TL other than the CAI (Injen, AEM, K&N) and exhaust by Comptech. You can also mod the suspension via springs (Eibach, Tein, H&R) or coilovers (Tein, Aspec). I believe Tokico has struts available. And don't forget to add the CT RSB to the list. Exterior aesthetics are also available like the Aspec kit or the RonJon body kit (below). Add custom wheels and tires and you're pretty much good to go.

So it sounds like a Cold Air Intake is the best idea for me. I have a couple quick questions.

1. Is AEM the best Brand ?
2. AcuraTL mentioned the sound. Is there somewhere I can find a sound clip? Does it Not sound good ?
3. Also is a CAI a warranty friendly mod ?

They are all the same, AEM/Injen. The sound of an intake is like a loud growl when you punch it. One downside to a CAI is when it is time to clean the filter because it is located down below the bumper and it is very hard to reach. Plus, since the filter is exposed, you could potentially suck up water during heavy rainy season and damage the engine.

If you can wait, I would wait for Comptech to make the Icebox. You get the same power gain without the much added noise and the filter sit securely in the engine bay and is easily accessible.

Ok, so it sounds like Comptech is the Brand for me. I have 2 questions.
1. Will I have any problems with my local Acura Dealer as far as my warranty goes?
2. Where can I find more info on the Release of the Comptech Icebox for 05 tls ?
