RSX Test drive
My wife and I test drove 2 base model RSX's yesterday. One had 300 miles, the other was a loaner with 3K miles. On BOTH, when the engine hit 3K rpm's it turned into a buzz-box, vibrating the floor and gas pedal badly. NOT what I would expect from a car with the name ACURA
loaners tend to be ragged out a bit, so i wouldnt have gone with that one. as far as the one with 300 miles on it... could have been something wrong. but then agian that depends on your definition of buzz-box. you mean the engine itself got loud? or the frame was making noise? maybe it was road roar? possibly items loose in the car? the gas pedal shouldnt have been vibrating, but again, i dont know what your used to.
we get people in (i work at an acura dealership) who "feel vibrations" and some of it is just normal. other times, its an issue that we can never get to replicate.
kinda reminds me of the chick who wrecked her car and tried to get us to warranty the front bumper cuz she believed that the bumper sides shouldnt have popped off.. lol

I feel a slight vibration in my gas pedal around the same RPM, it's not a heavy vibration though. The RSX Type-S really is a niche product, and I fully expect it to be discontinued in 2006 (thank god, that'll help me hold my resell value! Acura's last sport coupe)
I used to drive a plushy 98 Accord Coupe and I hardly ever felt road vibrations and bumps, but the RSX is more of a sports car than a luxury car, I mean it's neither, but it's closer to a sports car with some leather recaros thrown in for good measure.
