Default stock cd player in 03 civic

I am looking to replace the head unit in my 03 civic ex. I was wondering if anybody knows what the output wattage is on the stock cd player. I am trying to see how much of an improvement I will get.

don't know the output wattage, but you will improve your sound by getting an aftermarket unit.

Yeah thats what the guy at the stero place told me. They said that like a stock unit puts out maybe 20w, and going up to the 50 or 52 watt would probably get me the sound improvement I am looking for.

BTW, I am looking at the pioneer 4700, 6700 and the 7700, not sure which one I am going to get.

those are all in different classes. i would get the 6700 or 7700. also, the power the guy told you is peak power of the stock radio, which to me sounds reasonable. i would say its closer to 15w though. good luck.

I ordered a 7700, I will let everyone know how it is when it gets installed.
