Help!! Waker leaks in driver's door TL 2001
Hey Guys,
I am a devoted Honda/Acura fan, and I never had any major issues with these cars. However, now I'm at lost.
I have a rather nasty problem with the driver's door - every time it rains, the water finds its way through the door (that's what I think), onto the plastic step below. And - the best part - if my car is parked on less than a horizontal surface (e.g. on a hill, under a small angle), this water from the step actually flows right onto the carpet inside the vehicle!!
Brought it to the dealer, and they claimed they were not able to reproduce this problem by applying high-pressure water to the door from the outside - which is less than strange because like I said, every time it rains - I get water leaks. Dealer didn't fail to charge me $135 for looking at it, of course.
Even though I begged them to disassemble the door and look and what's going on inside, they "decided to spare my money, since the problem didn't exist" (such service would cost $250)
There are two rubbers on the door - the first one circles the whole door, and the inner one that is attached just to the bottom portion of the door. Both of these rubbers get lots of water through the whole length of the door which is probably leaking into/onto them from the door... As a result, the water is pushed inside the car. My passenger side door is just fine - the plastic step below is always dry, and I'm only seeing this with the driver's door!
I never have been at the accident that would leave an impact on my driver's door, nor has it ever been taken apart by the mechanic before....
I don't know what to do at this point!! I could go to a different dealer/service, but what are my chances, really?
Any suggestions, hints would be greatly appreciated!!
Also, have you ever heard about such problem?
Thanks in advance.
George.
