Hello :) n00b here w/ '03 RSX, wanted to spread the word about Neo iON
hey everyone
i've had my silver rsx for 2 years, just got an ipod this january and wanted to take it everywhere with me.. tried the FM transmitter and that blew.. of course we don't have cassette players in RSXs, so that wasn't an option.. so my tech guru-friend alex recommended the Neo iON.. at first i was like wtf?
after 3 months, i Finally got it and i def. should have gotten it earlier!! the thing goes straight into your aux output in the back of your stereo deck (i still have the factory deck, which i had to get replaced a whopping THREE times.. thank god it was free, or else..
...will be getting an after-market soon tho!) and so the music in your pod plays as clear if not better than CDs. i'm a chick with barely any electronic know-how and i thought i was gonna blow up my car if i installed the thing myself.. but i wasn't about to wait for anyone to do it for me and surprisingly i got it on my FIRST try.. no joke.. just took out the panel beneath the deck, stuck my hand up in there and popped in the 14-pin connector. that's all it took.
oh and just to let you guys know, i dont work for the people that manufactured the Neo iON.. i'm solely a satisfied customer
in fact, i work for ferrari and here's my email: dbusciglio@ferrariusa.com
don't be afraid to use it to ask me any questions or just to verify that the poster of this thread is in fact an independent point of view.
(and no you can't have a ferrari discount
)
thanx a bunch for reading this...i'm looking forward to modding my car (juussttt a teeny bit) so i'm def. gonna be lurking this forum quite a bit!
peas,

I thought I would chime in on this one as I too bought the Neo iON. I was going to have it pro-installed at a shop and the date for my install was Friday, but USPS brought my package fast so I had it Saturday Morning.
This in itself was amazing, I ordered the thing on www.mp3yourcar.com on Friday at 3:30pm with USPS shipping which cost about $6 or so just assuming it would ship out Monday or Tuesday and be here by Friday. After opening the package Saturday I took a look at everything and just decided I would try to install it myself - honestly I was so excited about having my iPod connected to the car directly (instead of the piece of s*** itrip i was using) that I could not wait if I wanted to.
I had the same experience with my car, except instead of pulling off a panel I was able to just reach from the passenger side up behind the radio without doing ANYTHING and just plugged it right in. I was so happy it worked out like this as the store quoted $40 for installation, a penny saved is a penny earned.
My review of the the neo ion iPod car kit (that’s a mouth full!)... It is the best purchase I have made this year (Got the iPod Christmas of last year). I too would *HIGHLY* recommend it to anyone who owns an iPod and a car.I am so mad the apple store did not have these when I was there, I thought the only option was FM quality sound with wires all over my dash.
One word of advice, use the search box on www.mp3yourcar.com instead of the list on www.neocaraudio.com because I notice there is a lot more vehicles listed as supported by the first site (For example, daniela's 03' RSX is not even listed on neo car audio).
