replacing rear rotors

Is there any thing special about changing the rear rotors/pads on my 01 TL? The repair books say I need a locknut wrench and turn the caliper piston. I dont understand this part.

A lot of import rear calipers need to be turned as they are pushed in. That is probably what they are describing. It requires a special tool, but the tool isn't super expensive.
