Default what's under the rear seat in civic sedan?

hey guys, anyone know what if anything is under the rear seat in a 97 civic sedan??? like unser the metal, not just under the cusion... I want to cut a rectangle out and weld a metal tray so that I can mount 3 amps under there, but short of cutting and taking a look; I was wondering if anyone had any idea

thanks, Mark

Correct. I would not weld, cut or drill anywhere near there.

I knew that, but what I should have said, was, is there any headroom between the tank and the metal floor pan to sink in a 2" high tray??

thanks guys, Mark

I would be dropping the tank anyway, as there is a modification to the filler cap that I would do at the same time...

are you tryin to mount ur amps and put the seat cushions back on? the distance btw seat metal to the gas tank is roughly bout 2-3 inches at the most. take out ur fuel pump cover and take a look for urself, should give you a better view of whats ahead.

yeah, thats what I want to do... I will be taking the time this weekend to look and see if it's feasible(sp?), I just wanted to get some insight on it while being bored at work

that would be your fuel tank and fuel pump.

probably not worth relocating for amps.

a few fans would do the trick, if an access hole was made on the front side of the seat pan, facing the front seats...
