2-ways or 3-ways? I've been impressed with Boston Acoustics as well as Diamond Audio 6x9s. I'd also look into Infinity as well.

eh...Infinity's are too overrated! i have infinity 6x9's and i don't really like them. Yea...if u have a couple of hundreds to spend, i suggest u get a pair of 6x9's as well as 6.5's and power them with a 4 channel amp. Boston's are hella good, but it's costly. Pioneer's are so-so. Like if u don't have that much cash, pioneer's are good enough. I think polks had a good sound.

Just remember that at most places that have a audio sample area, remember that they're powered by amps. So in other words, it's not gonna sound exactly the same way in your car unless you have the same HU and amp.

you can get some nice boston 3-ways for around 150 and change. Thats what I have and they sound great and handle a pretty good amont of power.

IMO if these are for the rear of your car... don't invest and save money for a nice set of front components..
I can go on and on about why rear speakers are pointless and worsens sound quality in cars...

What model do you have? I've always been impressed with Infinity products, and they seem to have a reasonable price...

Another comment on bashing of rear speakers.

Please explain to me how it worsens the sound quality of a car?
I really wanna hear this one....
