what do you guys think about ITB?
well.....im in a debate on whether or not i want to do this.....i don't know if its only good for the track.....cuz i don't know about gas mileage anyone know how reliable it is....?
do a search on h-t. there are a few guys running itb's on the street. some made their own and some have pre-fabbed kits.
pros:
increased throttle response
broader power band
sound (this can be a con as well depending on how loud you like things
)
cons:
price
tuning is a bitch if you dont know anyone to tune them
for a stock b16 i wouldnt bother. once you start getting into the internals and getting the engine to breath in and out better, then you can look at itb's as an option.

tru tru.....+ i just bought the engine and my funds are very low i can't really afford messing anything up yet. + i don't trust anyone but myself when it comes to being under my hood. which is another problem .....cuz i don't know anyone with a itb setup tuning would be my major issue ....thanks anyway man....your just saved my stubborn ass a headache
Gotta start with the engine breathing somewhere. ITB's are a fairly cheap power gain considering what you get, and only get better as the more mods you add on. I would be very interested in a dynograph that shows lost power with ITB's...
I suggest you keep checking out videos, pictures, etc. and see. It could make for a great summer project and learning experience. If I wasn't boosting so soon, I was going to install a set. They are now up for sale.

I love my ITBs, but i wouldn't put them on as a first mod on a stock motor.
What's going to happen is:
you'll spend hours tuning the ITBs
you decide to install some cams, header and exhaust.
now you gotta spend another few hours to tune the ITBs again.
ITBs were the last thing i installed.

like most people have said its not a good place to start tuning a stock engine, u should try having the head ported, a good port pull on a b16 can make a huge diffrence, allong with a bigger throttle body and a decent exhaust system you'll have a snappy little motor
