Default [FAQ] Boost and Air/Fuel gauge install into civic

I thought i'd make a short writeup for the gauge install. this write-up will be posted on my website: www.lukekailburn.com


The first thing to do is select a place to mount the gauges. I chose a dual A-pillar pod



Autometer Light show... i mean Air/fuel Gauge



Unhook the battery

run the red wire to the yellow/green-stripe wire on the cig lighter thing.



run the black wire to a ground



run the purple wire to the thicker solid white wire at the ECU




Reconnect the battery and take it for a drive to test the gauge



Autometer Boost Gauge



Unhook the battery

run the white wire to the solid red wire on the green plug which connects into the back of your climate control



run the black wire to the red/black-strip wire on the green plug which connects into the back of your climate control



run the vaccum line out this precut hole in the firewall(i drilled a hole in the grommet so i could keep the grommet there)



using a razor blade, cut the vaccum line that connects to your FPR(fuel pressure regulator). Insert the plastic T, the soft adapter, and connect your vaccum line




Reconnect the battery and take it for a drive to test the gauge.

are these color codes apply to 92-95?

the color codes should be the same for the 92-95 civic. pm me if you need some help

Am I missing something?? Boost gauge on N/A??? A/F off of factory 02 sensor??

Where did N/A come into this thread? Consider it just a vacuum gauge on an N/A...

And, yes, the A/F would be wired to the factory O2. It's not very accurate, but that's what this gauge is designed for.

how the heck did you learn all the shit you know i see you all over the forum with good info bro i even was able to use other info from another thread on my girls moms van

I try a lot of things. I make a lot of mistakes and learn from them. Eventually, I don't mess things up anymore and I know what I'm doing. I've also been a part of this forum for about 7 or 8 years now so that helps.

haha, westcoaststyle is an old geezer lol. but he learns the same way i do, the same way anyone does. just poke around at shit, read some threads, post a lot, get dirty.
