So while the Teg has been in the body shop...
...my loaner car experience has turned into a vehicular buffet.
h:
Originally, I was driving an 2003 Corolla LE(?). As I was driving home from class yesterday, it started making a noise like a worn-out wheel bearing. Wheel bearings generally don't die after only 19,000 miles. :eh:
So I drive home, park and check out the wheel that seemed to make the noise. To my shock and amazement, two of the five lugnuts on that wheel were missing. And one of the three nuts remaining was loose enough to be removed by hand. :eek4:
And I thought to myself, "Dave, this is not good."
I called the car agency and they handled the whole thing very professionally.
They wound up swapping the Corolla out for a Mitusbishi Outlander. And in a perverse way, flogging this Mitsu is kind of fun.
160 hp has a hard time motivating 3600lbs of vehicle with vigor, but the seats are firm enough, and the steering actually provides feedback. The Corolla was driving a sofa. This thing actually has character.
h:
So there ya have it. The Teg was color sanded and cleared yesterday afternoon, and when the rim comes back from powdercoating, she'll be aligned, detailed and hopefully back home tomorrow night.

Oh, since the thread's back up..
h:
I got my baby back at lunchtime today. :wiggle:
I couldn't be happier.
The auto body folks did and absolutely amazing job restoring that quarter panel
After pushing that barge of a Mitsu, to be back :driving: in the DC4 is sheer bliss.
