i have to get a new computer
the recent flood has messed mine up, more than it already was. i havent built one in like 3, 4 years, so i think im just gonna get my hard drives, ehternet card and soundcard and give them to someone to build me a new one.
im really out of date with this shit. all i really know is taht i want a good amount of ram, front usb and firewire ports and a good graphic card. any suggestions? thinkin like a 2.2ghz amd (what kind of amd, no clue), 512mb of ram (no clue what kind of ram to get either) and as for a graphic card, geforce? but theres like a million different kinds of those out now.
help?

I think that the best thing for you would be to go to like pricewatch.com, and use unitedmicro.com to configure something. They usually have great prices on built systems if you dont want to mess with it.
Last tower I configured was AMD64 3800, ATI 9800 Video, 200GB SATA HD, 16X Dual Format DVDWriter, CD Drive, Floppy, 1 GB of RAM, SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card. I think it was like 690 shipped to the customer, so that is not a bad deal at all.....

ona side note, i like watching my emmory usage only be like 50 % (cept when i'm encoding, of course)
