Default Problems with my 99 3.0 CL Transmission!!

Ok about 6 months ago the transmission statred jerking real bad between 2-5 gear when it changed gear. SO I took it in to my acura dealership and they said no problem it just need flush and you'll be ok. At the time I did not know anything about the transmission problems acura was having. The a few days ago it started slipping in 2nd gears and just plan not catching 2nd and just reving up. Now after 5-10 mins of running it works fine and runs ok. When I took it they sadi they need 4 grand to replace it it was going bad. My thing is they knew about the problem with the transmissions with my model yet when it start jerking they just said all you need is a trans flush 6 months ago now here I am now and need a new transmission. Does anyone know of anything I can do or should do. Its like they hide the fact 6 months ago and know they want my money. Is the transmission in my 99 3.0 cl the same in the 2000-2003 recall in the cl and tl???

How many miles do you have on your car and did you get the extended warranty?

JBH - I feel for ya! That's exactly what mine did. It didn't take long from the quick slip to the "the &^%# transmission is GONE". I'd say mine all happened within 4-6 weeks. The quick slip was so quick that I wasn't convienced that it was a transmission problem. Then I take a 250 mile trip and about 125 miles into it it would disengage then about 10-20 seconds later re-engaged. I knew I had a major problem then. Luckily, I had an extended warrenty and they replaced it for the co-payment ($50.00?). I think my transmission went with around 70k miles on it.

Maybe if you talk to a regional Acura service representative (is there such a beast?) versus the dealership your issue will get resolved to your satisfaction.

I'd direct your dealership to this site and all the issues concerning the transmission.

GOOD LUCK

No I do not have a extended warranty but I called acura's customer ssevice line and they are going to replace it for me. All I have to do is pay 475 for labor. I am very happy with this. Acura stepped up and will keep a customer for life.
