Honk if you've had transmission problems
Lately I've been reading more and more about transmission problems with Honda/Acura line. What has your experience been?
I bought my 99 CL 3.0 in 99 and had to have the transmission REPLACED last year. Luckily, I bought the extended warranty as I plan on keeping the car for years. But the whole experience sucked as I was inbetween Tampa and Jacksonville when it decided to start to self destruct. I only had to pay the co-pay ($50.00) and they replaced the entire system. Haven't had a problem since. I LOVE the car and just flipped 93k this morning.
Any other transmission stories?

Yeah, there's a class action suite against Honda about this. It mainly effects 99-03 TL/CL transmissions, and I think the MDX might be included. But the 1998-2002 Honda Accord V6's as well as 1998-1999 Acura 3.0CL also has it's own problems, but to a lesser degree.
It happens. :happysad:

I have a '98 Accord V6 and the tranny was replaced at 70K, and is now starting the process of crapping out again at 135K.
The best part is the '98 isn't covered in Honda's "Goodwill" campaign, so I get to buy rebuilt or pay full price for a new replacement.
