Default The epitome of 'good customer service'

Ya... right... check this out:

I was looking for a full gauge bezel for my '95 Civic (the vents and all) so I email this guy on ebay asking him about the one he's selling

The title of the ebay auction: "92-95 CIVIC EG DASH CLUSTER COVER JDM BEZEL"

Me: Is the tab behind the hazard switch still intact? Thanks!

Him: yes the switch is mint

Me: I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. There is a tab behind the hazard switch where a screw is used to mount the bezel to the dash. Is that tab for that screw there and is it cracked or broken? Thanks!

Him: IM NOT SURE WHAT U MEAN. THE BEZEL DOESNT SCREW INTO THE DASH THERE R CLIPS THE ONLY SCREWS ARE 2 WHICH GO IN LAST BY THE CLUSTER

Me: Then yours must be broken because the bezel attaches to the dash in 3 places: 2 near the cluster and 1 behind the hazard switch. Good luck with your sale.

Him: its not broken you must be kidding me.....do u even have a civic.....i work on them all day long ive taken this piece out of many cars before and this item is not broken....if u dont think so then dont bid and **** off

and yea there is a screw behind the switch and the hole isnt broken i dont know what else to tell you man.

Me: Great customer service, I haven't ever been more impressed. I simply asked you if the tab was intact, you replied telling me that the switch works great. I then made it more clear that I was interested in the tab, not the switch, you said there was only 2 screws that mounted the piece to the dash and I corrected you again explaining I was interested in the condition of the tab. I'm sorry that my direct questions may have been too detailed for you to understand...

Oh, and there's nothing JDM about your bezel, but nice marketing. ;c)

Again, good luck with your sale and have a nice day. Consider working on your literacy as well as your customer service skills in future sales.

:EDIT:

Him: THANK YOU, I APPRECIATE THE COMMENT ABOUT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, EVEN THOUGH YOUR BEING SARCASTIC. WE GOT OFF ON THE WRONG FOOT HERE, AND I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE. CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT. I THOUGHT I MADE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR IN THE DESCRIPTION THAT THERE ARE NO CRACKS AND THE PIECE IS ****MINT***
YOUR RIGHT THERE IS NOTHING JDM ABOUT THE BEZEL.....I KNOW THIS, IT WAS JUST A "KEY WORD" THAT GENERAL PUBLIC WOULD TYPE IN THE SEARCH WHEN LOOKING FOR VARIOUS HONDA PARTS. YES, THE TAB THAT YOUR SO INTERESTED IN IS PERFECT. ONCE AGAIN I DO APOLOGIZE FOR GETTING YOUR PANTIES ALL UP IN A BUNCH. ITS BEEN GOOD KID!

Me: I am being sarcastic, you're absolutely right. How many times do you think someone on Ebay (of all places) says mint and you get something that is far from "Mint"? Too often. It is my prerogative to inquire about the condition of things that are not visible in the picture. If you are as much of an expert in these items as you advertise then you would know that that is one of the most easily and often broken parts on that piece. What is the point of demeaning a person for being 100% sure that the item they may spend approximately $60 on is in fact "Mint"? It's not as if I was asking you to stand on your head while holding a 3.8 lb cantaloupe in front of the bezel to ensure that you are actually selling it. It was a simple question and you decide to make it into a huge problem. I don't take kindly to being sworn at over email when I am entitled and well within my boundaries as a consumer to inquire.

Put yourself in my place and consider how you would react to this situation... that should give you a good idea of my frustration. I have been nothing but pleasant with you and I'm sorry that I have been such a burden on you.

I would have been perfectly content with this reply had you not ruined it with the "your panties all up in a bunch" and the "kid" comment. You have no idea who I am, my age, nor what my qualifications are in this field. And I am again not surprised at your customer service based on my interactions with you.

I hope that you get what you are looking for and that no one asks you any questions in the future because I fear for the reply that you will send that person.

Have a good day.

:slap: Some people are just idiots...

I wonder what he means by "I've taken this piece out of many cars"?

Actually got a reply... added it to the initial post. This guy is pretty stupid and he does have a 100% feedback rating with something like 500 feedbacks so that's good, but it's very surprising considering my interactions with him.

They need to hire a group of surfers called the "keyword police". Everything is now "JDM" and "rare". I type in Honda parts (for example) and I get thousands of listings for the same crappy headlight bulbs. There's just something fundamentally wrong with that.

Keyword abuse to get your auction in searches that have nothing to do with anything =
