anyone here follow the fight sports (pride, ufc, k-1, shooto, etc.)? i've been following religiously since UFC 2.

my sorta-uncle, dating my aunt guy used to be in the UFC, he we call him "the professional"
busted his shoulder a while back tho, but he can still kick someones ass

rolled with renzo and rodrigo gracie in nyc back in '97. pretty intense for a 135lb 16 yr. old getting choked and arm-barred by 200+ lbs. nyc cops and assorted tough guys.

Nothing big. My friends taught me a few grappling moves back in HS.

I'm not that much into it, but my friend used to have us over all the time for UFC/Pride/K1 parties.

i want to get into something like that, to stay in shape and have something to do. but i love watching k1, i dont have cable though, so i cant really watch it that often

If you can handle the sight of blood, then go for it.

I like to watch, but I'd never participate in full-on MMA fighting for sport. My friend showed me his gi and it's permanently blood-stained. :eek4: It's fun to grapple here and there, because then sometimes I can feel up my opponent, but I don't like to strike.

I just taught my class grappling, throwing and wrist locks last week. Much fun.

I do remember UFC #1 when I was a sophomore in college
