Springs aren't that expensive. You'll need to disassemble it all anyway, so just get new ones.

Good way to blow out shocks. And don't ever cut aftermarket ones.

you drive a civic and you're going to cut the springs? horrible idea. :hammer: don't upgrade suspension unless you need it. also, if you just want to drop it, get some decent springs/shocks.

Recommend it? No.

Is it safe? If you do it right, yes, however most people don't. You can only remove part of the dead coil without ill effect. A lot of cars don't even have dead coils, that depends mostly on your vehicle.
