Just tap in to the fuse for the radio, it will give you 12 volts and will only come on with the car... or use a test light to find another wire with power..

if you want to be lazy (like me) just strip the wire from the device you want to use, and wrap the wire around one of the studs on the fuze (as long as the wire is pretty small) and then re-install the fuze... im sure most people on here would say not to do it this way though.

In that case you will need to splice a wire (any wire that is hot w/ the car on) i find that crimp connectors are the best for this type of install (just make sure you mash the connector real good)

hope I helped

actually i believe the tach wire on remote start systems looks for ac not dc. you can test for the tach wire by setting your digital multimeter to ac voltage. what kind of car do you have? you can probably get it off the distributor and sometimes in the car. If you give the specific year and model someone probably can post it for you.

ill try those and the radio thing will only work once the car is running cuz it cant put out current when the car is just on it can only do it when the car is running so the remot start knows the car is started

holy shit i think i might have got it cuz i think it did just need to get a (+)12v signal and i went to the inside fuse box tested the starter signal one and it does just that. now the only way to no if it works rifht is to try it out BUT how do i get the car to do a cold start or wat ever it is that makes the car not start on the first attempt so i can see if it will make a second attempt at the start if it does not start on the first try

Pull off one of the plug wires and give it a go. It wont start, and the unit should try again.

Put the plug wire back on really really quick if you want it to run on the second attempt.
