Update on Integra emissions saga.
Well the car is passing at the maximum limits. It has baffled the highly trained Acura technician for 3 days now. What was it? Don't know and neither does he...he has re-adjusted the valves cause he felt they were done too tight and has done an extensive carbon cleaning on the motor. I am now getting a new cat cause the tech. feels this will put me under where the car needs to be. And guess what? I get it for free!!! My car is covered up to 80k for emissions. I turned to Acura at 79,219 miles. Thank god!!! Cats are so $$$
Yeah well they got the numbers down to 61/61 for 15mph and 45/46 for 25mph. So I am barely passing for 15mph and barely failing for 25mph. Also, I have recently done some research on hydrocarbons and catalytic converters and I learned that the chemical compound in a catalytic converter that reacts with hydrocarbons to burn them off can be damaged and coated, preventing them from working to their full capacity by using leaded fuel. Well about 30k back I bought a 5 gal drum of 112 from a race fuel station. I put a gallon in per fill up over a 5 week period. I believe I may have damaged my catalytic converter. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...oh well, so maybe this is it? What more is there to do when you really cannot find anything wrong?
