Default is my clutch on the way out? help pls...

hi gang, fabs here. It's been a few months now that my clutch has been making a funny noise when the car is driving. tonight it started getting a little louder. The best way i can describe the noise is a bit abrasive-metalic..(sounds like the noise your tires make when driving through a really wet road..but the road is'n wet! ). Anywho it sucks if it is on the way out but what can ya do. Are clutches expensive for these cars and is it a big job to do ? let me know..thanks

well, by the description that you've giving, i'm not convinced that it's a problem with your clutch.

Are you noticing the clutch slipping.. like if you mash down on the gas or shift extremly hard??

either way.. if u'r right about the clutch.. it's gonna cost you about 100 bucks for a stock one.. i'd suggest spending a couple more bucks & grabin up somethin a little stronger.

toss out some more details about this if u can.. just to make sure of what the problem is.

if you notice different clutch feeling, than I would say by the acual sound that it mite be a throwout bearing on its way out.

Default hey

hi folks...as far as performance goes, it doesn't really feel like it's slipping..stangly enough...the thought that it might be a bearing, sounds like apossibility...because it does sounds a bit more like that senerio.
the other thing is that almost every time i get out of the car i get that lovely "burnt-clutch" smell coming out....
hmmm??? what can it be sports fans???(should have bought that big caprice police-pack instead...pimp-star!! haha)

:ugh:

it sounds like the throw out bearing to me also.. just pick up a oem replacement clutch, or like someone else suggested something a little more "abuse friendly."
