cost of purchase, given that these are brand new straight off the dealer showroom, the TSX in my opinion gives you the most for the dollar. price not an issue, ill take the IS300 anyday.

they're both pretty much in the same price range. IS only comes with 5 speed though.

Ummmmm....do you honestly know the difference between 6 speed and 5 speed?

You are buying into the hype factor. Look at the overall factors....comfort, drivetrain, power, performance, fun factor etc.

A 6 speed manual really isn't the magical tranny everyone makes it out to be, basically you get the same final drive ration in 6th as you would in 5th with any other car. The thing you do get is a lower first gear, second gear, and so on.

The TSX's motor is relatively peaky compared to the IS300's motor, so the 6-speed makes more sense on the TSX than it does on the IS300.

The TSX has that nice Honda driving feel which is quite nice, but the IS300 has that smooth powerplant and rwd layout. If you need a back seat though, the only choice of the two is the TSX.

I'd pick the TSX. I love the exterior and interior of it. As for the IS300 I like the exterior more tha the TSX's but I do not like the Iinterior at all. Since you spend 99% of the time inside the car, the interior rates high on the importance factor for me

Here is the comparison of the two cars on Acura's site:

I like how the IS looks. My parents were deciding between the IS300 and the TSX for my sis, she ended up getting the IS.
