Default A couple of questions

So I just bought a used 2002 Si and I have a couple of questions.

1. What does the EPS that is to the temp guage stand for?

2. Where is the best place to get rear head rests and a glove box manual(you know the thing that is in the glove box when you buy the car new that has all sorts of info.

3. When i use the remote to lock the doors the light will flash but the doors will not lock...whats wrong?

I appreciate any help thank you in advance

For a cheap car, the EP3 has a couple of innovative items installed that are unusual for a car that inexpensive.

EPS = Electric Power Steering. The EP3 puts about 3 more horsepower to the wheels that it would if it had conventional power steering that leeched off the motor. It feels good and works fine in almost all situations, but you can defeat it in autocrossing situations if you're not careful.

EBS = Electronic Brake Stabilisation. You didn't ask about this, but I think it's neat for a little cheap car, so I'll mention it. If you go into ABS brakes with the wheel turned and the body leaning, the car will sense that you're entering a skid and will alter the brake pressures among the four calipers to straighten the car out. Once again, this works fine in almost all situations, but if you mean to be deliberately trail braking you need to be prepared to how the car's going to act, or just don't trail brake so radically.

I'd suggest a motor factor or "junk yard" for both the head rests and the owners manual.

No idea about the locks. Sorry.

Is there some history w/the car that would help us? Did the car have an aftermarket alarm system that was removed?

EPS stands for electric piece of shit. At least that's what we call it at the dealer. When you go to the junkyard for the headrest see if they will give you what you payed for the car, if they offer you enough unload it on em. You'd be doing yourself a favor. The last Si was the 00, after that they turned to shit.
