We were on I-78 west around the Tamaqua exit around 2:30pm. We were all travelling along at around 75mph. Daughter was sleeping, wife had her eyes closed. So far the 2 hour trip had no real excitement.
For those who know me I do not tailgate, people think I'm driving slow, but I really stay back about 2-3 car lengths. And at the NASA HPDE school I took 2 years ago, my instructor taught me to look through people's windshields.
Well on this day; that very minute I used everything I needed to. I was in the left lane along with a chain of cars. All within about 1-2 seconds I saw brake lights lighting up about 3-4 cars ahead, and two cars' rear ends go up in the air, and then a 18 wheeler locking up brakes (in the right lane) and the trailer was going into a jack-knife. Since I don't tailgate I just slowed down gradually, didn't even get into ABS. But what I couldn't believe was how the 18 wheeler got the trailer to straighten out and not plow over the cars infront of him and next to him  to his great driving skills.
So we came to a hault for about 30 seconds and all of use who were not involved in the accident went around the 2-3 messed up cars. I don't know why we all stopped or what happened. Whew! And it's amazing how cautious you drive when you have a little one in the car.

but that is one of the main reasons i do not support suv's at all, when in a car, you have no way of looking through the windows, and can hardly see around them. But whenever I am behind something i cant see through, i ride towards the left side of the lane so i can see around them and ahead.
but yeah, if everyone drove like this, it would be great!

Nothing scares me more than other drivers.
I'll laugh at a situation when my car is on the verge of losing control if no one is around. But if there are other drivers around I drive like a granny. Just if someone is watching me I take it easy or if it's a blind corner always. I can't tailgate either, it makes me so nervous.
