Default Ahahahahaha my poor cat...

He had surgery last friday... and.. well.. I have to give him medicine twice daily... I have to do a sneak attack on him when he's sleeping.... force his mouth open and squeeze the medicine dropper with the quickness.

Today he knew it was coming... and started giving me the side eye as I was getting the dropper ready.

That is all. h:

Over the summer I had to catsit for my parents' cat which takes like allergy pills or something. I couldn't get her to swallow the damn things so I took her to the vet to show me how to get her to do it.

The trick they taught me was to use one arm to hold the cat down on a counter (like, lean on it with your armpit) while you use the other hand to hold onto their head where the jaw is hinged. Then you push the pill kind of up under the upper lip, and they have no choice but to open their mouth. When they do, you shoot the pill down the gullet.

Maybe that'll help. :dunno:

There's an easier solution: a pill popper. It looks like a large plastic syringe, but it has a perforated opening on the business end that you can place a pill in. Once you have their mouth open, just stick it in, pop the plunger and the pill goes down before they can cough it up. Most vets sell them.

If they love to eat, you can also crush the pill into powder and mix it into some canned food.

Petsmart has pill poppers too, we used one on my girlfriends cat when he needed anitbotics. He's an evil cat too but he took them alright.

I never had a problem giving my cats pills. I just grab them, open their mouth, and drop it in the back of their throat.
Speaking of cats, I found a picture of my old cat Buddy earlier. :wtc:
