I was wondering if I remove the intake resonator and then slap on a high flow filter KN or something similar would that be somewhat similar in performance to a CAI like an AEM? I was thinking it is taking air from close to the same area. Thoughts or suggestions?

Yo I have a 96 gsr all motor runs flat 12's and I bought a short ram intake including a filter, than i used my friends olf jetta short ram intake pipe and made a custom CAI this was all before my aem v2 w/K&N Filter which gets me another hp or 2 really nothing noticible, it can be done and done good with the right length piping. BTW I am selling a High Flow cat forr 100$ and i'll pay for shipping. Its JDM and I have the same one on my car, 100% stainless steel made by sprinter. anyways, i would say it all depends on where you want your power at?
short ram and cold air intake have different power band
one for low to mid the other one is for high
i would suggest to get a real one, spend your money wisely don't be such a cheap mofo
