In my civic I have 4 infinity kappa 63.5 speakers (4 Ohm, 75w rms, 225w peak). My headunit is a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP (50X4). Im looking to get a good 4 channel amp to power these speakers. I really dont have a budget so I will consider all choices. Basically I want something that will give me clean, crisp sound when I raise the volume. Any recommendations? Thanks.

 

I run four infinitys and I would highly recommend the alpine MRV-F340 four-channel amp. It's 55 watts x 4 and it really sounds incredible. After I properly set the gain to the front and back and upped the crossover frequency on the 6.5's in the front and the 6x9's in the back, I was able to crank the volume past the point of my own tolerance (really f'ing loud) and the sound was crisp and absolutely clean.
You shouldn't have to pay $400 for this amp either, I was able to find it on eBay from a private seller for $210 including shipping. It's really worth every dollar.

honestly, not to count out the p4004... its rated at 50w x4 at 4 ohms but came tested as 64watts rms x 4 at 4 ohms. I haev it in my car powering two front 62.5 components and 2 rear 6002i 2 -ways.

Its not about how much volume you can run, its about when the speakers/amp will distort. Anyhow, the way my car is settup now there is NO sub that will overpower these speakers and there is no speaker settup that I think can come close for the money. The new Kappa components go way beyong any other speaker out there right now and when pushed with 50+ watts rms they souldn incredible.

Well I dont think there is a single sub that could right now... I mean take it how you want. If you want to be so picky and be like "i know of a 1000w titanium gold plated sub that would..." than cool.

I don't think there are many other ways to take it. You made big claims for which you have no support. You said NO sub could overpower your setup - there are. You said there are no speakers that can come close for the price - again, there are - and that they go beyond any other speaker out there right now. You make it seem like they're the end-all speakers in their price range, but you have limited experience (btw, to answer your question in your other thread, you need a SVC 4ohm sub, or DVC sub with 2 ohm or 8 ohm vc's.)

Kappas are nice speakers, but there are many other options for the price. I have friends who use them. One of my other friends is a manager at one of Infinity's retailers and sells them all day long. He'll be the first to tell you that they're nice, but that you can do better, given the price. Boston Acoustics, Alpine, MBQ, Diamond Audio, CDT... they all have comparable, if not better, speakers in the range of the Kappas.

 

i would definately get the jl 300/4. i had used it in my car in the past and i was really happy with the ability to change alot of settings. also you might want to look into the zapco amps and the new polk c400.4 amps and ditch the passive crossovers and go active.
