Default For Trade: 82 280zx in TX

Up for trade is my current daily driver. It's an 82 280zx 5 speed 2 seater. Runs and drives great. Inline 6 engine runs well. Tranny shifts great. I drive it every day with no problems. Back and forth to school, to Dallas and Fort Worth for business, to Houston to visit family: very reliable and VERY fun to drive.

Asthetically, it does need some work. There's a little bit of rust here and there- nothing big though. Definatley needs a paint job if you care about that. The car was in a fender bender before I got the car and the front bumper, passenger headlight cowl, and the hood were damaged. Damage wasn't that bad, the hood just does sit flush with the fenders. It still latches and locks fine though, no problems driving it as is. The driver's fender also has a slight dent, looks to be more from a renegade shopping cart than anything else. Didn't even notice it for a while.

Seats are alright, could use a cleaning, but I don't think there are any rips. There is no carpet in the hatch, just a pad. Dash is cracked(like all z dashes are) but I think the rest of the panels are good. I'll be taking the stock stereo for another car. All dash and interior electronics seem to work- including the dash gauges(i love those ). You'll probably want to get a new ac/heater control unit; it works, but sometimes it'll blow high and low intermittently. AC works great, but the belt is a little loose and squeals rigth now, about to fix that though. I think the combo switch for the headlights needs to be replaced, the driver's headlight was really dim when i bought the car. I've since rigged both healights to run off the passenger side plug. Temp fix, but it works

Mechanically: car runs and drives great. Starts up with no problems, but can sometimes be a little sluggish for a minute or two if you don't let it warm up. Not sure what the problem is, but it's gone after 2 mins of driving. Has a power steering leak, I just refill twice a week. A header bolt(attaches the manifold to the engine) is missing, I'm guessing it broke off at some point. Bought it like that and have had no problems. Brakes are a bit squeaky, also squeaks a little from the rear while going in reverse sometimes, stopping power is fine though. Other than that, the car runs great. It hasn't let me down yet.

The reason I'm looking for a trade is I need a more practical car. I'm looking for daily driver with 4 seats because I'm tired of making multiple trips to drive friends places or people having to stay in the hatch. I'm looking for an automatic tranny so my fiancee can drive if she needs to. I'm looking for better gas milage since I do alot of driving for business.

All of you people that have been talking about swapping your tranny because it's an auto, here's an alternative! You guys that would rather have a real sports car instead of a coupe, here's your chance.

I'm not trying to sell the car, I wouldn't have anything to drive otherwise. I'm looking for a local-ish person(or anyone that wants to drive here) to do a straight swap with. I'm in Arlington, TX- in between Fort Worth and Dallas. The car is tagged(since I'm still driving it) and has a clean title. Feel free ask any questions.
