Default anyone know how to remove the governor

I was just curious if anyone knew how to either remove or some how tweak the governor. i was wondering if it was even possible, or if you have to buy a new ecu. i have a '00 ls auto if that helps.

I wasn't aware that Integra's had a governor; mine didn't. I had an LS (RS to be exact), but it was a 5spd, not that the transmission should matter.

Let me ask you this...

When you say governor, what's happening? Are you driving along at say... 120mph and your RPM's are getting into the redline and then poof it kind of bounces off the limiter and shuts down when it reaches a certain RPM? (But because you have an automatic it doesnt ever get that high until you're at top speed).

If so, that's a rev limiter, not a governor. You can get an S-AFC and adjust your redline I believe (or a hondata) but without engine work you're going to cause major damage to your engine.

Integras have rev limiting governors. Not speed limiting governors. They are there for a reason. Unless you are racing with a super modded setup, there is no reason for removing that.

For some reason I doubt you are redlining fourth gear (isn't that something like 140mph?)

Why would you even need to go that fast? :eh:

rev limiters are good unless you like blown engines.
