Default What type of headlight bulbs do your TLs use?

I'm interested in purchasing an HID from Autlamps-online.com, but something crossed my mind. I wonder if I could purchase an HID kit used on TLs from a salvage yard and retrofit it somehow if it's possible.

You can, you will need to get the ballast/wiring harness/bulb. However, due to your stock headlights are not meant to be for HID, the beam pattern might be off.

But are Acura TL bulbs the 9006 type? If so, then they should fit right in, and since TL bulbs are the reflective type, I shouldn't get too much glare if aimed properly.

I don't believe they are the 9006. I think it is either DSR or D2R. Again, I could be wrong.

I know they are D2R (r is for reflective), but they have to be a certain type like H4, 9005, 9006. I wonder which type they are.

the D2R is the type, it won't fit into 9006 area

Your right, the TL is D2R and it won't fit an Accord housing. For the Accord, you must purchase the 9006 HID kit and I would recommend getting the 6000k kit over the 4150k kit. Also, D2S is for headlights with projectors, there's really no difference as far as brightness between D2S and D2R, but the housing is slightly different.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I figured. I was hoping there would be an easier way, but there isn't. As far as 6000K over 4100K, I would go with the 4100K because it's brighter and the pigs will stay off my back. 6000K is too purple for my taste.
