i think if you are looking for mild modifications without any major complications then you should stick with the stock intake manifold, but if you upgrade cams and other N/A mods then definitely go for it.
But get it tuned as soon as you install it to bypass any future problems

The AEBS intake manifold is one of the very few that seems to offer a power gain over the ITR OEM intake manifold.

In the only test I'm aware of that I could trust, a longtime California ITR owner took his car to a dyno.

His car is equipped with:

HyTech header
HyTech exhaust
Mugen headgasket
Cam gears at +5, +5(net +3.5, +3.5)
Hondata
Hondata intake manifold gasket
290cc/min injectors
Spoon thermostat
Mugen thermoswitch
Icebox

He tested the car before the installation, and again directly afterwards. Although you can never be perfect, this is as close as a regular user can come to making sure that he's seeing what a real gain would be.

He got basically a 1.5 HP gain and 1 # torque gain by installing the intake manifold, but without doing any tuning or making other changes. It's possible (maybe) that he could've found another HP or so from tuning, and it's possible that the AEBS intake could allow you to see some real gains if you're building the motor more than he did.

It's also possible that a Spoon or Ericks throttle body would get better results than he got that day.

However, in this material http://www.professional-products.com...no%20Flyer.pdf the manufacturer of AEBS is sticking to his guns about a 20 HP gain over stock. They refer to a "JDM B18C5" motor, though...and that motor does not exist. Perhaps it's the owner of the Civic that misled them.

Be aware that if you're looking at competition the current Honda Challenge rules disallow intake manifolds that are not made by Honda/Acura, even in H1 classifications.

1.5hp/1ft lb of torque hardly seems worth the cash... im sure you could find someplace better to spend it where you will see some better power gains... cams for examble...

LOL... But if you got cams that would start the analysis cycle over again, and then you might actually see more gains w/the better intake.

It never ends.
