I replaced O2 sensor and Cat Converter. Check engine like still comes on?
I have a 94 intergra LS. The "Check Engine Light" was coming on so I changed the Cat Converter and the O2 sensor but the "check engine light" still comes on. It doesn't come on everytime I take the car out but it does most of the time. I don't want to spend the money to have it put on a diagnostic computer at a repair shop.
I just read on another post to reset the ECU by taking out a couple of fuses.
What are these fuses and is that what I should do also or is their something else that I need to replace.

You could try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery also.
Did your car fail the smog? My 95 is going into the test place tomorrow and I think it might fail on emissions, I may need a new cat also.
How much were your O2 sensors and where did you get them if you don't mind me asking?

I still need to smog test it. I will not do it until the "check engine light" goes out. I picked up a Bosch Universal O2 Sensor from PEP BOYS. I paid around $50 for it.
Does disconnecting the Battery Reset the ECU? Because on another post it was suggested to pull a couple of fuses.

Disconnecting the battery should reset everything, including your radio, make sure that you have the radio code before you disconnect the battery, otherwise you will have no radio for a while.
Disconnect it for around 15 minutes, that should be plenty of time to reset everything, let us know if it gets rid of the check engine light.

My Ls Integra has 166,000 miles on it (completely stock) and I figured it was time to replace the O2 sensor and Cat. I don't know how to pull the code myself but would gladly do it if I knew how. Something about a piece of wire or a paper clip.
And I do have the code for my radio so there is no problem with that.

But where exactly is the ECU and this diagnostic plug. Somewhere under the glove box? Is there only one diagnostic plug there. I was reading something about an ABS plug too and I don't want to confuse the two.

OK, right by the passenger kick panel, underneath the glovebox there's a green rubber connector mounting thingie. Take the plug out with just the brown and black wires, and use a paperclip to jump it. It's easy and obvious when you look at it
Ok, I went out to the car with paper clip in hand and found the diagnostic plug. I'm getting a code #6 (coolant temperature) and it repeats. No other codes are coming up.
The engine isn't overheating according to the temp gage inside the car.
I checked the coolant level after I got the code and the coolant level is good.
The overflow tank is good to.
I just replaced the radiator about six months ago because it started to leak.
Should I change out the thermostat or just reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and see if that clears it out.
