Default Carbon Fiber hood and hood locks ?

What is the purpose for hood locks/pins and how do they work?

Are they necessary for a Carbon Fiber hood if you get one and how do they help ?

Getting a CF hood for a friend soon and dont want to have something mess up later down the line

since the hood is so light...the air can left it up off the hook and slam it into your windsheild while you are doing 90mph trying to stop w/ your hood in your windshield. hoodpins hold the hood securely, hood locks actually lock your hood down and you need to use a key, extra step in stopping someone of jacking up your car.

In the olden days, most CF hoods did not clip into your stock hood latch. So, in order to hold it down, you needed pins.

Now, they're more of an added safety measure on many hoods. However, some still do not clip into the stock latch, either for fitment or weight reasons. (You can make a lighter hood if you minimize on skeleton.)

battery as an example, the poor mexicans and the white trash around here will steal anything not behind a rottweiler and at least one lock.

Tell me about it. Stealing my bottom of the line pioneer deck. Just stole some guy at my work's lap top too!

Im thinking of getting locks just to cut down on my anxiety. Paid 350 for a hood that can be jacked by removing four bolts.
