Default My GSR sounds like an aircooled Volkswagon

1995 Acura Integra GSR
Take a look at the pictures. It looks like I need a new header. Does anyone know how much they cost brand new (stock) and could I get one from a junkyard? I want to install it myself...any hints on this would be great.(seals etc.) Car gets really hot in the engine area when you drive it. It is also embarrassing with all the racket it makes. Had to let it cool for a while with the hood up before I could take the cover off to see what was going on.

I would go aftermarket just for the simple fact that a) it would be new and b) it might be cheaper...check this one out...only $129 and it comes with everything you need, gaskets and what not...

Brand new, it'll be something like $600.

You can get them used for pennies.

Edit: The link above is for the wrong year of GS-R. You would need this one:

...that should hold you over until you can get something better.

Put the liquid wrench on there now, so it can soften that beyatch up a little in the time while you wait, may want to wire brush the threads to make it a little easier to get off too. Use good six point sockets to remove, less likely to round out. If you go with a stock one, wire brush it really well and paint it with black barbeque paint or something and it will hold up better. Also, put anti seize on the bolts when reassembling to make it easier to pull off for the next guy.

Sorry it took so long to reply...My wife hauled me down to the inlaws for dinner Thanks for all the great advice. I think I will be able to get this done for not too bad after all. I would be very interested b16aEGcivic, let me know how much shipping will be to 30518 in Ga. I will keep you all posted on how the install goes. Why will an obd2 not work? (Just curious).

Honda kept changing the designs of the exhaust systems, it's better to keep within you own model year to not have to worry about compatibility issues.
