ABS Pump Motor Over-Run?
My abs light came on about two weeks ago on my '94 Integra LS, well at the same time my rear brake pads needed changing so I just went ahead and changed them. Well after I did that, and reset the ecu. No code...up untill yesterday I went and bought some new front pads and slapped them on real quick went for a drive and the abs light came on, Pulled the code...it came back with 1, indicating pump motor over-run and possibly the pressure-switch my question is if anyone else has had this problem, and what was causing it?
I had the same problem with mine on a couple different occasions. The first time it happened I was convinced that the o-ring under the accumulator had gone bad...according to some posts on this forum that is a fairly common cause for the symptom of pump motor over-run. However, when I asked my dad to come help me pull the abs unit to replace the o-ring he noticed a small leak from one of the brake flare nuts that connects to the abs unit. I simply used a 10mm flare wrench and tightened it. I reset the computer by removing the 15amp fuse from the bank of fuses above the abs unit and that seem to fix it...for about six months...and then a different flare nut started leaking...tightened that one...reset the computer...no problems since.
