I'm thinking of selling my 89 Civic and moving on to something else. Can anyone give me an idea what it's worth?

It's a base 89 Civic (1.5L, 4-sp manual) with AC. Everything works. Car is still my daily driver and passes Texas safety and emissions tests. I know the motor isn't in good shape and will likely need major work soon. I'm trying to be as honest as possible about this car.

Kelly Blue Book says $950 for a fair condition, which I think is a little high. So I'm not looking for a lot for it. A suitable discount would be given to a HAN (or dallasimports.net) member. I think it would be a good (cheap) swap project for someone.

(Can anyone guess the flag on the back? Previous owners were from there)

well the car looks clean. remove them stickers on the back. i think u could get $900 for it. its good for mods. u can put a D series motor in it easy. good project car. how many miles?

 

I would say that car would get $900 or $1200 local here in CA depends on the extent of the motor work that going to be needed and if the A/C blows cold

 

It's got 139K miles on the origional motor. It leaks oil and it's showing up in the radiator fluid, so I'm guessing a head gasket and it will need a clutch fairly soon (original clutch too). The body has some dings (most major one is on drivers side just in front of door, which doesn't really show up in those photos). Interior isn't bad.. Dash is excellent, seats are fair (I have covers on them), drivers door panel has some cracks near the window.

I'm just getting new car fever and if I could get $900 it would be great. Thanks for the advice.

 

it's worth more than a coupe would be. The four speed is unique, and personally I think it would be cool, but not everyone appreciates that. I've always thought they should have made more four speeds.
I don't know tho. The miles are low compared to my 94 coupe. It doesn't seem like it ought to be nearly broken at 139k. But who knows .?? I guess you'll just have to patient...
