Adding sub and amp with stock head unit?
Has anyone added a sub to their type-s and still used the stock Bose head unit? I took it in today to have it done and something isn't working right. I need to know who has done it before so we can give them a call and ask a few Q's.
I thought you just had to take the wires from the sub in the spare tire and either hook them into high level inputs on your amp or get line output converters.
do a search on www.clubrsx.com , there are tons of threads about this there.

Well...from what I understand, you can't really replace the deck anyways, and why would you want to bro'? it has a in-dash 6 cd disc changer

Alrighty i got this shiznit.... you go to your local sound store and purchase a wire to rca converter... you take you lines running to the left and right speaker and you run them to the converter...then the rca's will plug into your amp....that will give you your sound then you run the amp wire to your battery and the relay to your fuse box under the dash somewheres(sorry own a teg) , then you run your amp power line(red) to your battery with a fuse about 6 inches in-line from the battery.... WAMO you have a perfect stock look (unstock sound)..
OH yeah dont forget to ground the amp really good....

It's really easyif you know what you're doin, otherwise Circuit City or any other installers could do it. I have had my subs and amp in for about 3 months. They work great except it doesn't hit as hard on the radio.

don't use the rear speakers to hook up the amp, I believe they filter out the lows on the speakers, if you hook a sub up to them, you'll never be getting all the bass that you should.
Thats why you hook it up to the wires from the stock sub.
