an installer told me he can do this for me so that i can get better range...apperently the artic start fm modulator has a better range than compustars.
he says its STILL a compustar since its still the compustar brain and remote, but just different fm modulator.
should i do this? or should i stick to full compustar. he said it only takes a lil reprogramming from the installers. is there a downside?

do you already own the compustar?
If you dont, compustar is a good alarm, but i would only go with the 2wss-as. The spread spectrum design is awesome on range.
My friend has the 2wss-as in a Harley-Lightning and it works great.

 

I run a compustar system on my Accord. I wil say from experiance that the range on mine is fine. If you want I would wait until October of this year. Compustar is creating a new range system, and phone integration system. At least that is what I have been told.
