You probably have cloth seats and when you slide in and out you build a static charge. When you get out and touch the metal of your car, you complete the circuit and the electricity built up in you is released into the car. h:

It could also be that your tires build static electricity from rolling down the road. When you touch the car, you are grounded and that completes the circuit.

Nothing to worry about... it's normal. Just be sure to touch somewhere on your car before you go filling up for gas.

my car zaps me all the time. I just close the door by the glass instead of touching the metal. h:

I think Honda fabric upholstery is very prone towards building up a static charge in people that sit on it. I've had the same problem pretty frequently.

Happens all the time. Just close the door by the window like white_n_slow and me. And when you go to the gas station, touch something metal before you start pumping, or you will blow up.

Getting a shock once in a while isn't as bad as burning your ass off every time you sit down on hot leather seats in the summer (or spring, summer, and fall in southern states, right?). :fawk:

This has been highly debated, but if you ever get a chance, try to watch the show Myth Busters (discovery channel?). They tested this one time by setting up the whole experiment IN AN ENCLOSED CHAMBER, and produced no fire what-so-ever. My 2 cents
