After how many miles is a clutch considered broken in?

Personally, I break it in for 500-1000 miles of easy use and stop-and-go traffic.

My best friend's Clutchmaster stage 1 said 500, but that's probably both a safe estimate and counting highway miles. Taking those into consideration, 500 should be more then enough (and my buddy's is running perfectly smooth 20k later after about a 200 miles break in with city and highway driving).

my honda mechanic, the best in richmond, va, told me 100 miles would be fine. the clutch will smell for a while unfortunately. i just installed my new stage 1 competition clutch and pressure plate. i have put 200 miles on it and am driving it normal and every once and a while hard. it will take a while for the clutch to wear into the pressure plate and flywheel though.

I put 500 on mine before slamming the gears.
