Default Need some tail light advice for my gf's car

My gf has a silver 2000 Integra basically stock looking besides some mirror/black tint all the way around. Car is very clean looking but she wants some clear tail lights for it and I also think they would look decent on there. I am far from a ricer or anything like that so I wont let her get too extreme with things like that for the car but the clear's would look good on this car. Thing is, I have dealt with domestics all my life and have never owned an import or worked on one for that matter before I met her so I am not sure about what brand/style lights are the best.

I found these and like them on ebay but want some opinions on the quality, I know the ad says they've gone through thorough testing but that means nothing to me. Ive researched a little on TYC products and havent really found the answers on the quality of their products that I was looking for. Here the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...geName=MERC_VI
His 100% feedback is also a positive for me.

Another set I like is here but I dont think the qaulity will be as good as the ones above http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33716

My main concern is them getting filled with moisture because ive seen that on cars before in their clear tails and it looked like a$$. Any feedback is very much appreciated and I hope I posted this in the right spot, this is my first time posting here. Thanks

as far as taillights, OEM and nothing else, is the response you'll get around here. and i agree. those things in your ebay links don't even come close to looking as good as stock, so do yourself a favor and save her her money. i know this isn't what you asked, but it's the only answer that i have.

As reno put it, the overwhelming response will be to stay with the OEM lenses. And I wholeheartedly share that opinion. I have not seen one aftermarket replacement tailight that enhances the design of the car to which it is fitted. They all, IMO, cheapen the look of the vehicle. This goes for a Kia Spectra "Type-R" as much as it does for Jaguar S-type or a Lexus IS300 (the instigator of this whole mess :chuckles: )

That said, welcome to HAN. I hope you enjoy your stay. :cheers:

if you/re going to change the taillights get either the balck housing or the carbon fiber housing. on silver it looks great. the silver on silver just looks tacky, imo. but with that black tint....id go with a dark euro taillight.

i agree with acuragal03, if your gf has to have aftermarket go with the carbon fiber housing, they are the nicest aftermarkets you can get, but OEM is still better IMO, but to each his own

Like everyone above, I'd definitely advise her to stick with stock.

I just bought a pair of 98-01 OEM tail lights for my 96 GS-R.

altezza tail lights are the apitamy of ricer, i dunno how you can have them and considered not a ricer owner. as for tail light preferences,
Stock OEM tails--> :goodjob:
