Most Honda/Acura pin striping is a dealer add on. My car had silver striping on it and I told the dealer to remove it before I purchased the car.

Removing them is a pretty painless process. Go to AutoZone, or what have you, and purchase a plastic razor, or sort of a plastic scraping utensil, and then buy some bumpersticker removal (I forget the brand name, but it doesn't hurt your paint, it's designed for removal from a car). Use a hairdryer or let the car sit on a hot day for a while, and scrape off the pinstripes (it could take 30 mins, it could take 3 hours) Afterwards, follow the bumper sticker remover instructions to remove the sticky goop that is left over.

Give the car a fresh wash afterwards and, voila! No more pinstripes.

I've removed the pinstripes from 3 Hondas, and found that this "bumper sticker remover" (I'll post the actual name when I get off work) works much better than Goo Gone. Spray on, let sit for 3 mins, then it instantly will wipe off.

But, to each his own.

I've been lucky enough to never have to deal with pin striping on my honda's. But, I'm sure that after a few years of them being on there you would have to buff over them to get it to look normal. You would probably be able to see where they were when you got it off.
