Guys,
My car makes this loud humming/vibrating sound...like a wheel bearing going bad. I traced it to my passenger side axle. MY mechanic checked it out and noticed there is considerable play between the axle and where it enters the trans. He removed the axle and found that the splines were all messed up. He put a new axle in and the noise is still there and the same amount of play too. Is my trans shot? or is this a more common or simpler problem? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
