Default GSR vs SVT contour

i am sad to report that i got beat by an SVT contour tonight. i drive a totally stock GSR. my launch was pretty good and we were even through second but he pulled me in third. he said it was an SVT contour V6 and 210hp. i saw he had extra gauges so i though he had turbo but he said one was oil pressure and one was vacuum (?), and the other was NOS but that it didnt work. and he claimed that he "used" to be turbocharged. i dont know it just seems gay that i got beat by a ford contour!

Those things are pretty quick on the top but dog slow off the line.

If it makes you feel any better, the engine is really mostly Yamaha.

They aren't fast and they aren't slow...i remember getting raped by one when i was i/h/e in the civic from a 40 punch. Then i remembering beating them so bad when i was turbo i didn't ever bother to race one again. I guess for a bolton GSR it'd be a good race but it's certainly no LS1 killer.

There is NOTHING Yamaha about the Duratech motor. Standard Ford faire with slightly revised cams and ExtrudeHoned intake and heads. You're thinking of the original SHO V6. That was a Yamaha motor.

My '99 SVT Contour ran 15.2@93 stock. They're potent driven right. Just troublesome to keep running right.

not really... it'd be gay if he got beat by you... those things are decently quick, and handle decently, not bad at all.

Why do you insist on bringing back old threads?
