im thinkin for 2000 gsr, i read that jg edelbrock victor x manifold is great setup with edelbrock 65 mm throttle body, i m curious whats the best camshafts, cams, valve springs,retainers setup,skunk 2 for the most whp gain,will the aem short ram intake in the victor x manifold

 

or is turbo better, but what internals do you guy recommend for slappin on a turbo, i dont think it will be reliable with stock gsr internals

 

if you go like 5-6psi a turbo should be fine, I believe. if you decide to be stupid and start boostin like 12psi on a stock engine, then yeah it will kill the car.

 

6psi on a B18C1 would give you more torque than a streetable NA built one.

 

The JG manifold is really peaky and I would only use it on a motor running a ton of boost.

There is no absolute definition of "better" when it comes to picking things like this. As always, you have to figure out how much money you want to spend, how much power you want to make, and how much reliability you are willing to compromise.

What parts do you already have? $1000 isn't going to buy much more than cams, the necessary valvetrain, and adjustable cam gears. You're going to need some kind of i/h/e to take advantage of aggressive cams, preferably a 2.5" setup.

 

i already have i/h/e setup aem intake, dc 4-2-1 stainless , and greddy sp catback exhaust does that help

stage 2 cams from skunk2 will make more power if you increased compression.

so you get new pistons to increase compression. granted you'll make more power.

in all honesty. locate a used turbo kit in good shape buy it, slap it on and buy hondata with boost option. run like 8 psi of boost. and have it tuned.

i feel it's quite reliable. and you'll not only make much more power than you would with a pair of cams, but you'll also flatten out your power curve making more power for a longer period of time.

it's personal preference.
