Default DX motor with EX tranny

my friend is still wondering if he should do a tranny trade,he was wondering would a ex tranny on a dx motor will run good and faster?

good and faster are relative terms..but yes the EX tranny has shorter gearing as opposed to the fuel/freeway friendly DX tranny

yes it will be faster... the gear ratios are more favorable for speed than the dx gears. It's not going to run any "better" unless your current tranny has problems. overall it is a good swap if you plan on staying with the sohc.. but if you plan on swapping over to dohc later on then I would just leave it alone

sorry to whore the thread but would an EX tranny from a d16y8 fit a d15b7 without any modification

no im talking about connections, like are there any sensors from obd2 that would need to go on?

I know if you're using the speed sensor that came from the y8, it works fine, not sure if the vss from teh z6/b7 will bolt right up to the y8 tranny... But yes, it works just fine.

vss will bolt up....my d15b7 vss worked in my B series tranny.
